Women Leaders in Female Health & Wellness Spark Cultural Conversation About Vaginas With the Launch of “Legalize V”
PR Newswire, November 1, 2016 [New York, NY]
Nuelle™, a company focused on women’s sexual health and wellbeing and creator of Fiera® Personal Care Device, joins forces with leading women entrepreneurs and visionaries to launch public awareness campaign “Legalize V.” This movement sheds light on the inability to use anatomically correct language, such as “Vagina”, in the public forum and the implications this has on society.
Coinciding with Women’s Sexual Health Month, the campaign launches today via a collaborative video, featuring those who have come together to drive the conversation about sexual health, gender equality and overall wellness. By marrying comic relief with real world anecdotes, this short digital film lays the foundation to a larger initiative, raising awareness to today’s remnants of what used to be known as the Comstock Law (a regulation back in the 1800s prohibiting the use of sexual content).
“We’ve all faced censorship in one form or another as it relates to discussing women’s intimate health. But these often vague norms and rules, which primarily have been enforced by media, hinder our right to access information related to our health and wellbeing,” says Karen Long, LCSW, Founder and CEO of Nuelle™. “I am proud to join likeminded thought-leaders in this movement to highlight this issue and begin to create change.”
Vagina. There. We said it. Find out why you should too. Learn why saying “vagina” matters. #LegalizeV Tweet

- Tania Boler, Co-Founder, Elvie
- Michelle King Robson, Founder, HER Inc.
- Colette Courtion, CEO, Joylux Products

The “Legalize V” video kicks off via Facebook, YouTube and LegalizeV.com. Demonstrations advocating for this campaign take place Wednesday, November 2nd 2016 in New York City areas: Union Square (7:30AM-11:30AM), 30 Rockefeller Plaza (1:15PM – 5:15PM) and Washington Square Park (3:30PM – 7:30PM). Snapchat filters in support of “Legalize V” will be available in Union Square and 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
To join the movement, all are encouraged to demand respect and say the word “vagina” on video, post it and challenge three people to do the same via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube. The more comfortable society is with words like vagina, the more likely the taboo will dissipate. Visit LegalizeV.com to learn more.
