Take Me Fishing™ #FirstCatchSweeps Campaign offers Chance to Win Boat Package via Social Media Sweepstakes
PR Newswire, ALEXANDRIA, VA (April 13, 2015) — With fishing season kicking off across the U.S., the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Take Me Fishing™ campaign is spreading excitement for the sport with the launch of #FirstCatch. All year long, boaters and anglers throughout the U.S. are invited to share their first fishing memories – first of the day, first of the season or first of a lifetime – as a way for people to come together and celebrate the joys of fishing and boating.
To solidify the launch of #FirstCatch, Take Me Fishing™ will give one fan of the sport a way to make getting out on the water even easier with a chance to win their very own boat! From now through May 25, fishing fans can post their #FirstCatch memories on Instagram and Twitter using #FirstCatchSweeps @Take_Me_Fishing. One lucky winner will receive an all-new Evinrude® E-TEC® G2™ 250 H.O. powered Ranger® Z521C Bass Boat.
“#FirstCatch celebrates the sport’s unparalleled ability to unite and entertain a multi-generational audience,” said RBFF President & CEO Frank Peterson. “Since boating and fishing can be enjoyed while alongside friends and loved ones, the sport is known to create lasting memories. #FirstCatch creates a platform to share and reflect on these types of unforgettable experiences.”

Although the #FirstCatch memories shared don’t have to be fishing firsts, Take Me Fishing™ knows that there’s nothing quite like catching your first fish, and is making it their mission to give everyone their #FirstCatch, along with the ability to share it. While #FirstCatchSweeps comes to an end in late May, Take Me Fishing™ is encouraging fans to continue sharing their firsts and engaging on social media using #FirstCatch all year long.
In addition to encouraging fans to participate in the #FirstCatch initiative, the Take Me Fishing campaign is also encouraging outdoor enthusiasts to help conserve the nation’s waterways. Information on Take Me Fishing’s aquatic conservation efforts – along with tips on how anglers and boaters can help protect and conserve U.S. waterways – can be found on Take Me Fishing’s official website, TakeMeFishing.org. The site, along with its Spanish language counterpart, VamosAPescar.org are one-stop resources for fishing license and boat registration information, fishing and boating locations nationwide and ‘how-to’ information to help plan fishing and boating adventures. They give people of all ages and experience levels everything they need to learn, plan and equip for a successful day on the water.
