Welcome UBM Advanstar

Welcome to the UBM Family, and to the newly-formed UBM Advanstar.  We are both delighted to be bringing the Advanstar and UBM teams together.

Both Advanstar and UBM are events businesses with related marketing service activities and by coming together we will be much stronger. We will be the largest tradeshow organizer in the US, which is a terrific platform for future growth, and we will be able to use our international network to promote Advanstar’s products and services. In addition, the combined business will have the most complete life sciences marketing services business in the US.

We both believe that there is a tremendous opportunity for our combined business, with its established market presence to strengthen its position as a global leader in industry. UBM’s Events First strategy provides an exciting future for the combined business, one in which we both hope you will play a full and rewarding part. During the first week of January, supported by Bob Gray (UBM’s CFO) and Tom Ehardt (Advanstar’s EVP Life Sciences ) we will visit the Advanstar offices in the US. At the same time, I have asked Simon Foster, CEO of UBM’s European business, UBM EMEA, to represent me at the offices in the UK to welcome you on behalf of UBM. These meetings are an opportunity for you to hear more about UBM and about our plans for the future, as well as for you to ask any questions you may have.
