THE POST ELECTION SURGE IS COOLING OFF THIS WEEK AS AMERICANS COME TO TERMS WITH HIGHER-THAN-EXPECTED INFLATION AHEAD.
AFTER THE FEDERAL RESERVE’S UPWARD REVISION TO INFLATION EXPECTATIONS WEDNESDAY AND ITS CONSEQUENTIAL LOWERING OF RATE CUT PROJECTIONS…INVESTORS ARE TAKING PROFITS WITH THE S AND P 500 UP MORE THAN 20 PERCENT THIS YEAR.
THE STOCK MARKET WITNESSED A RELIEF RALLY THRUSDAY BUT IS UNDER PRESSURE EARLY FRIDAY AFTER A HOUSE SPENDING PLAN COULDN'T PASS LATE THURSDAY.

TRADERS ARE DIGESTING A WAVE OF DATA POINTS IN THE FINAL FULL TRADING WEEK OF THE YEAR.
THE FEDERAL RESERVE WEDNESDAY SAID IT ANTICIPATES TWO RATE CUTS NEXT YEAR INSTEAD OF FOUR. IT’S ON THE BACK OF STICKY INFLATION AND AN ECONOMY THE FED CHAIR SAYS HE IS QUOTE VERY OPTIMISITC ABOUT END QUOTE.
THE CENTRAL BANK DID TRIM RATES BY A QUARTER OF A PERCENTAGE POINT IN ITS FINAL DECISION OF THE YEAR AS HIRING COOLED.
DATA FROM THE FED PRECEDED AN UPWARD REVISION TO THIRD QUARTER U-S GDP GROWTH EARLY THURSDAY. CONSUMER SPENDING EXPANDED THE ECONOMY BY 3.1 PERCENT LAST QUARTER…ABOVE AN EARLIER READ OF 2.9 PERCENT.
BETTER THAN EXPECTED RETAIL SALES DATA FOR NOVEMBER OUT TUESDAY DEMONSTRATED AMERICANS’ WILLINGNESS TO SPEND IN THE CURRENT QUARTER TOO.
