NEWTON VINEYARD OPENS ITS DOORS FOR THE JOURNEES PARTICULIERES BY LVMH
(Napa Valley, September 17th, 2018) – Newton Vineyard takes part in the Journées Particulières, a bi-annual event by the French luxury group LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, created in 2011 at the initiative of Antoine Arnault. This year’s edition of Les Journées Particulières will run from October 12th to 14th, welcoming the public on four continents, and stretching to the United States for the first time.
The Journées Particulières are characterized by the discovery of heritage and savoir faire. For the occasion, Newton - part of the LVMH group - has designed a 2-hour visit, including a vineyard tour. Guided by Jean-Baptiste Rivail, Estate Director, and Mayacamas Olds, Head of Viticulture, visitors will discover the complexity and diversity of the Spring Mountain terroirs and experience a range tasting of Newton wines from oak barrels with Winemaker Alberto Bianchi.
“Les Journées Particulières is an opportunity for us to invite visitors to look behind the scenes, and share the history and the secrets of Newton Vineyard. We are proud to participate to the 4th edition of the event for the first time this year”, says Jean-Baptiste Rivail.
During a comprehensive visit explaining the art of viticulture and winemaking, the guests will have the chance to admire Newton’s remarkable French gardens and walk through some of the vineyards, designed to enhance the natural environment of this Spring Mountain estate, surrounded by the scent of the herbs and roses emanating from the rooftop gardens, hearing the hummingbirds flying between the Tuscan cypresses pointing at the horizon, and finally strolling in the hidden labyrinth of cellars spanning vertical levels and avenues, before tasting the true essence of Newton’s wines.

ABOUT NEWTON
Newton has been making wines ever since the British businessman Peter Newton and his Chinese wife Su Hua purchased a square mile of rolling hillside in Spring Mountain in 1977, which they then converted into one of the most prestigious estates in the Napa Valley. The Newtons were pioneers of Spring Mountain. The estate now encompasses 170 acres of prime Napa Valley terroir, stretching over the Spring Mountain District, Yountville, Mount Veeder and Carneros vineyards.
For 40 years, Newton has been producing wines that are characterful expressions of the Napa Valley’s emblematic varietals, notably the Chardonnay and the Cabernet Sauvignon.
