PARIS, 23 March 2015/PRNewswire/ - Fujaïrah International Photojournalism Competition. The Fujaïrah Culture and Media Authority (FCMA) is pleased to announce the winners of the second edition of FIPCOM
For this second edition of FIPCOM, each candidate had to submit their work in one of the four categories on offer: news reporting, sports reporting, single news, single sport, covering current events making news headlines in 2014.
One overall winner as well as a winner for each category were selected by a professional jury made up of Jean-Pierre Vrignaud, President of the jury and Chief Editor of National Geographic France; Dimitri Beck, Chief Editor of Polka Magazine; Patrick Baz, Chief Photo Editor for AFP in the MENA region; Ian Berry, Photographer at the Magnum agency; Cécile Mégie, Director of RFI; Aurélie Clémente-Ruiz, Exhibition Director at I.M.A., and Ghassan Basile, chief editor of France 24.
The jury met on Tuesday, 17 March 2015 at the premises of the partner France Médias Monde to deliberate. At the end of these deliberations, the President of the jury, Jean-Pierre Vrignaud, announced the winners:
DANIEL BEREHULAK - GRAND PRIX WINNER OF THE SECOND EDITION OF FIPCOM - EBOLA'S DEADLY SPREAD
MAURICIO LIMA - WINNER OF THE NEWS REPORTING CATEGORY - FRAGMENTED, THE HUMAN COST OF WAR IN UKRAINE
BARAA AL-HALABI - WINNER OF THE SINGLE NEWS CATEGORY - ALEP
ALAIN SCHROEDER - WINNER OF THE SPORTS REPORTING CATEGORY - KUSHTI
GILAD KAVALERCHIK - WINNER OF THE SINGLE SPORT CATEGORY- TRIATHLON
The work of these winners will be exhibited at the Institut du Monde Arabe from 10 September 2015.

About the FCMA:
The FCMA (Fujaïrah Culture and Media Authority) has the purpose of developing and opening up culture and media in the State of Fujaïrah (United Arab Emirates) on the international scene. The FCMA implements several strategies, such as consolidating ties, nationally and internationally, between cultural and media institutions, and organising events (exhibitions, conferences and festivals). It is within this framework that the FCMA decided to showcase photographic journalism through the FIPCOM competition.
